MPG Update, Cianjur (05/12) - Engaged in humanitarian action, MPG with FORTA and DACON Aluminum was participated in the distribution action of aids. The assistance provided was in the form of sleeping equipment, food and other needs for affected residents of the 5.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred on Monday, November 21 2022 at 13.21 WIB in Cianjur.
The distribution was channeled through the main post of Nyalindung Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, West Java. Furthermore, the distribution will be carried out according to the needs of affected residents. The aid packages were distributed directly to affected residents in refugee camps. The entire MPG's team was met the community leaders and have seen firsthand the condition of the houses that suffered heavy, moderate and light damage. It can be seen that many residents are already carrying out their activities as they should. Residents also work together to meet basic needs, one of which is by cooking together in a public kitchen.
Based on data from the West Java Highways and Spatial Planning Service, there approximately 7 people died, 92 were seriously injured and 375 were lightly injured. Meanwhile, 5,783 refugees are now living temporarily in emergency tents provided by the local government and non-governmental organizations. Due to the condition of public facilities that were damaged, teaching and learning activities were temporarily suspended until conditions allowed. Under these conditions, many children need special attention for the disaster that has befallen. The FORTA and DACON Aluminum teams also took part in entertainment activities with children around the disaster posts.
This contribution was made with the hope that the affected residents could meet the needs of in an emergency situation. MPG believes that this condition will pass and all which affected in this disaster will recover as soon as possible.
